Jason Ray Bates

Jason Ray Bates, 38, of Pelham NC, passed away on February 12, 2026. He was Born July 30, 1987, in Danville VA to Donna Spangler Bates and the late Nelson Ray Bates

Jason, known to many as "Jake", was of Baptist faith. He spent many years working in construction as well as a landscaping and lawn care. Jason enjoyed fishing, watching Nascar (Chevy fan) football and tinkering with used items, a trait he most definitely got from his daddy.

Jason was loved by many friends and family.

Jason is predeceased by his father Nelson Ray Bates and Grandmother Francis Bates. He is survived by his mother Donna Spangler Bates, sister Kimberly Bates, nephews Austin Milam (Victoria), Damion Bates, Seth Bates, niece Sky Bates, great niece Riley Milam, and close cousin Crystal Bates.

A Memorial will be held Saturday February 21, 2026 from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. at College Park Baptist Church (1104 South Main St. Danville Va. 24541)

Public Visitation 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M.

Memorial Service at 11:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.

A Celebration of life will be held after the memorial service for close friends and family who would like to attend. This will take place at the residence of Crystal Bates 117 Martin Rd. (off of Ferry road).
